Martha Ann (Teeter) Spraetz

February 19, 1937 — July 4, 2024

Martha Ann (Teeter) Spraetz, 87, went to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, July 4, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. She was born, raised and resided most of her life in Indianapolis. She attended Ben Davis High School and continued her studies at Butler University. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and an active sorority alumnus. While attending Butler, she met her future husband, Ronald L. Spraetz, and they married in 1957. Together, they helped found the Christ Lutheran Church, while living in Zionsville, Indiana. After retiring to Hilton Head in 1997, she became a Stephens Minister, serving the First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head Island. Her passion for people was apparent to everyone whom she met throughout her many activities over the years including service to the Indianapolis chapter of Crossroads Rehabilitation Center, and tutoring reading skills to youth attending Hilton Head Island Elementary school.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ron (2011); Martha Elfrieda Watkins-Teeter (mother); Robert Thomas Teeter (father); Dorothy Mae Teeter (step-mother); James Sampson (step-brother); and R. Thomas Teeter (brother). Martha is survived by her brother, David Teeter (Carmel, IN); sons Mark [Lynn] and Greg [Leigh Anne]; daughter, Jennifer Goehl [Brian]; and seven grandchildren who lovingly called her "Mimi", Brooks, Chelsea, Aubrey, Trevor, Nicholas, Cole and Avery.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. EST, Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at the Chapel located at Hoosier Village Retirement Community, 9787 Hoosier Village Drive, Zionsville, IN.
