Martin Edward Dayan,
83 of Indianapolis, IN passed away Sunday evening October 18th 2015 at Hooverwood. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Dayan; sister, Frances Dayan; sons, Edward, Richard, Joseph (Brigitte) Dayan, and Marty Mason; grandchildren, Maxwell, Samuel, and Sophie Dayan, and Chatel (Justin) Beck; and great-grandson, Joseph Aidan Beck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Sophie; and his first wife, Marcia.
Marty was a graduate of Shortridge High School. He was also a 1953 graduate of Indiana University where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity. Marty worked in real estate development for Borns Management and Ivan Chalfie & Associates. He was a member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck. He will forever be remembered as a Mensch of the highest order who was a prolific story teller with a witty sense of humor. He was a passionate crossword puzzle solver and a best friend to many. But mostly he will be remembered as a loving and devoted family man.
A service will be held at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N. Michigan Rd, officiated by his favorite nephew, David Rubinstein, on Monday the 26th of October at 3 PM. All are encouraged to sit shiva with our family at the Lexington Farms Clubhouse, 10660 Lexington Drive, Indpls, IN 46280, immediately following the services until all your favorite Marty stories have been told.
