Mary E. Shelby-Stoakes
87, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 27, 2017. She was born to the late William and Birdie Fugate in St. Charles, VA.
Mary worked as a secretary in admission for over 33 years at Methodist Hospital as well as Westview Hospital. She was also a member of Zionsville Presbyterian Church for over 20 years, making blankets for the homeless, and singing in the choir with her late husband. She enjoyed spending time gardening.
She is survived by her sons, James A. Ferguson, Carl E. Ferguson, and Ricky J. (Michelle) Ferguson; sister, Edna Jackson; and grandson, Toby Ferguson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Stoakes and sisters, Virginia Hunley and Eva Richmond.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services, 11411 N. Michigan Rd., at 12 P.M. with visitation from 11 A.M. until the time of service.
