Maxine H. Lempke, 94, of Noblesville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 27, 2023. She was born on July 6, 1928, to Alma and Rudolph Hahn in Havana, Illinois.
Maxine was a devoted mother, Grammy and homemaker. She was a steadfast woman of God who quietly displayed her faith through dedication to her family, friends and church. She was a long time active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, serving in numerous roles over many years as a banner maker, educator, study leader, and Large Print and Braille Bible volunteer. Maxine was strong, caring and a wonderful listener; a woman who never let her age or circumstances define her interests or viewpoint.
She is survived by her four children, Lynette (Don) Gross, David Lempke, Lori (Jeff) Abbott, and Lisa (Barry) Hurt; four grandchildren, Abigail (Alan) Fiers, Alexa Hurt, Leah (Adam) Crockett, and Lydia Abbott (fiancé Joseph Medina); and two great-grandchildren, Michaela Crockett and Leland Medina. She is also survived by many dear church friends who played a special role in her life.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lempke, and her sister, Thelma Reich Jehs.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6th at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3650 W. 106th Street, Carmel, Indiana, 46032, at 11:00 a.m. (ET), followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. (ET). Private burial services will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis, immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the care and keeping of the Roger Lempke Eternity Candle and the Altar Guild at Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
