Michael C. Farinas

Michael C. Farinas, "Uncle Mike", loved by so many, passed in his sleep August 26, 2017. Mike was born in Chicago, IL, the first son to the Late Dr. Cirilo Farinas and Rosita Tabion Farinas. He and his two younger brothers, Ed and Mark, grew up in Munster, IN and graduated from Munster High School. Mike attended Butler University where he received his degree in Business Management and Finance and was known as "Ninja" to his Phi Delta Theta brothers.

In 1997, Mike met the love of his live, Kathleen Musgrave Farinas. They married in Jamaica on November 16, 2004. Their life together was full of love, adventure, travel, family, friends and beloved dog, Bandit. Those who know him know Mike lived life to the fullest and touched the hearts of everyone he knew, and even those he didn't know.

His nephews, Garrett and Enzo, and niece, Harper, were the true pride of his existence. His sisters-in-law, Milina and Kaori Farinas, mother and father-in-law, Gary and Sherry Musgrave, and sister and brother-in-law Amanda and Craig Shoultz, all thought of him and loved him as their own. His love for his family and friends, smile and laughter will be remembered always.

Mike was a life-long Cubs fan and attended Game 5 of the 2016 World Series which is one of the highlights of his life. His love for all things sports, Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, Butler, fishing, auto and motorcycle racing led to many adventures for Mike and Kathy. His flag pole became a reference point for the neighborhood of teams' success. His love for fishing took him to unique locations where he prided himself on the fight that led to the "big catch".

Mike worked for over 20 years for the Hertz Corporation, but more recently was the Director of Marketing for the George & Farinas law firm. He was loved and respected by all of his co-workers, especially his wife.

Mike was a member of the Butler Alumni Association, American Association for Justice, St. Michaels Church, Harley Owners Group, and Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents and father. He is survived by his mother, wife, brothers, nephews and niece, god children, many cousins and Bandit.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 29th from 4-8 p.m. and a Memorial Service will follow on Wednesday, August 30th at 11 a.m. Both the visitation and memorial will be held at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary located at 11411 N. Michigan Rd., Zionsville, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
