Michael Joseph Larson, age 57, of Noblesville, IN, passed at his home on May 16, 2015, of complications of brain cancer. Mike was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 16, 1959, to Frederick and Nina Larson. He graduated from Washington Community High School in Indianapolis, IN and attended Indiana University, Bloomington IN.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Christina Larson. He is survived by 3 daughters, Chantel Hazlewood, of Seattle, WA, Shannon Larson, of Portland, OR, and Brittany McCord of Bradenton, FL and 3 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Sonnie Burger, Laura Sullivan, and Stephanie Larson.
During the last 10 years, Mike was a devoted member and avid supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous. He spent many hours at his local club. He served as a sponsor to other members, participated in meetings as chair or secretary, and volunteered to help with coffee and clean-up. He tirelessly gave of himself to the Program and fellowship that changed his life. He embraced the Program's message of reaching out to others who are suffering and enthusiastically greeted newcomers to make them comfortable. He wholeheartedly shared his story and how the AA program had changed his life and provided him peace and serenity with those seeking the same. He helped others learn to take a look outside and be able to say "It's a Beautiful Day!" His compassion for the suffering, his faith in God, and passion for the AA fellowship were the gifts he shared with all the members at his club. He was, for many, the blessing of hope and courage for a better life.
A gathering in fellowship, in Mike's honor, beginning with a memoriam will be held on May 31, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Suburban North Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Suburban North Club, 1811 S. 10th St., Noblesville, IN 46060.
