Michael "Mike" Nelson

Michael "Mike" Nelson passed away peacefully on January 25, 2015 surround by his loving family and friends. Born in Indianapolis on April 25, 1958 to the late Harry and Gloria (Levy) Nelson. Mike is also preceded in death by brother, Bruce Nelson. He was a graduate of the Indiana University School of Business as well as North Central High School '76 where he served as class president. Mike and his wife and business partner, Robin are owners of Nelson Oil Company, Inc. Nelson Transport, LLC and Indy Tank & Equipment Services, Inc.

Besides running his businesses, Mike enjoyed family, handyman work, gardening and taking care of his Koi pond, travel and music. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Robin; his amazing children Aaron and Jessica; adored and loving sister Lisa (Lanny Grilly), brother Josh; four wonderful nephews, Jason, Adam, Kyle and Jordan Nelson; nieces Kumsa, Ava and Edie; and sister-in-law Linda; Mother in law Betty Hoffman; and Sister and brother in law, Judi Jacobs and Morgan Shallcross. Mike also leaves behind his beloved aunts, uncles, and many wonderful, supportive cousins and lifelong friends. His family and friends meant everything to him.

A special thanks to Dr. Don Rothbaum. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N. Michigan Road, from 6-9 p.m. We ask that you bring a memory to share, casual clothes only.
