Miriam Daniella Bibbs, 51, died Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her home.
She was born January 26, 1970 to Jeffrey L. (Stephanie) Bibbs and Annemarie (Antonius Fiekert) Decker in Indianapolis.
Miriam attended St. Peter Lutheran School, Lutheran High School and Washington High School before graduating from Arlington High School. She went on to earn a nursing degree at Ivy Tech State College.
She is a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, serving on active duty at Fort Hood and The Presidio as a combat medic. She went on to work in the medical field as a nurse in local nursing homes and hospice settings. Her most recent employment was as a COVID screener at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center.
Miriam enjoyed tending to her jungle of houseplants and container garden where she grew eggplants, tomatoes and peppers; decorating and redecorating her home; and watching Lifetime movies, true crime programs and “I Love Lucy” and “Golden Girls” reruns.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher D. Bibbs and Alexander D. Bibbs; parents; sisters, Rebecca R. Bibbs and Frankie (Willie) Bracy; brother, Joseph Mayberry; uncle, Stanley B. Bibbs; aunt, Jacqueline Highbaugh; special nephews, Raphael A. Sellers-Bibbs and Roland C. Spencer-Bibbs; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins; best friend, Tameria Gammon; and dogs, Neveah, Rudy, Onyx and Maya.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Junius and Dorothy Bibbs and Wilhelmina D. Scheepers; and a brother, Jeffrey D. Bibbs.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 10, 2021 at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services, 11411 N. Michigan Rd., at 2 PM. Friends are welcome to visit from 12 PM until the time of the service.
