Molly Calderon Jacobs

February 18, 1928 — July 26, 2012

Molly Calderon Jacobs, 84 years old, died on July 26, 2012, at her residence with her loving husband of 50 years, Jan, at her side. Molly was born on February 18, 1928 in Indianapolis to the late Andy and Mathilda Calderon. Molly was an orphan at age 14 along with her beloved brother, Leon Calderon. She was a graduate of Manual High School. Molly retired after 25 years as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Statesman Insurance Group. After retirement, Molly enjoyed traveling, gardening and many hours of volunteering at Etz Chaim Sephardic Congregation and Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. She also volunteered at Indianapolis Museum of Art and Indianapolis City Center. Molly was a former board member and volunteer at Park Regency.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Leon; and grandson, Christopher Walsh.

She is survived by her husband, Jan; sons, Michael W. Walsh (Beatrice) and Mark A. Walsh (Kyle); granddaughter, Rachel Higgins; and four great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation on Monday, July 30, at 11 am, with entombment at Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Etz Chaim Sephardic Congregation, PO Box 8004, Indpls, IN 46280, or Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, 6501 North Meridian, Indpls, 46260.

The family would also offer thanks to Heartland Hospice Service, Aunt Gladys Nisenbaum, Eleanor Glickstein, Susan Cornelius, RN and Dana Criss, CNA, HHA, and Becky and John Shreve for the loving care for our Molly.
