March 21, 1933 — October 31, 2022

Indianapolis

Myrna Fang,

89, of Indianapolis, passed away October 31, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis to the late Samuel and Anna Kaplan on March 21, 1933. She earned her Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from Butler University and began working as a teacher and school guidance counselor before focusing on raising her children.  With this background, she instilled in her children the value of education, books, and the importance of cultural enrichment through music, theater, dance and art.

Myrna was a lifetime Hadassah member and past president of the Indianapolis chapter.  She was also a tireless volunteer for Riley Hospital, Children’s Museum, Beth-El Sisterhood, and Hooverwood. Most of all, Myrna valued being together with family and friends who were considered family.  She never forgot a birthday and let everyone know how special they were to her.  Myrna will always be remembered as a sweet, good, kind, generous, smart, articulate, humble and caring person.

She is survived by her loving family whom she cherished, her husband of 66 years, Leo Fang; children, Brenda (Scott) Savader and David Fang; grandchildren, Sam, Ben, and Rachel; and brother, Kenneth (Phyllis) Kaplan.  She will be greatly missed by all, including Bagel.

Funeral services will be held at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road, on Thursday, November 3rd at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Congregation Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah .
