Nancy Jane Worysz

January 7, 1928 — July 13, 2017

Nancy Worysz,
loving wife, mother and grandmother, succumbed to the ravages of illness and the passage of time on Thursday, July 13, 2017.

She was the eldest of three children, Nancy, Joann, and John, born to parents, John and Imogene Murt. Nancy lived all of her life in central Indiana, the last half of which was spent in Carmel, tending to her family and her home and pursuing her passion of searching for and obtaining objects of Early Americana. Nancy served her community as a vice precinct commiteewoman, hospital volunteer, and when called upon by then Mayor Dottie Hancock, represented the City of Carmel on the commission to form the Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Nancy was instrumental in the establishment of the Bureau's first home in Noblesville, and the hiring of its first Executive Director.

Nancy was a life member of the Carmel Clay Historical Society, served several terms as its president, and oversaw its Country Christmas Bazaar during its most successful years. She also was a member of Conner's Trail chapter of Quester's, an Historic Preservation Organization, and served as president there as well.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and brother. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Andrew; her daughters; grandchildren; sister; and many nieces and nephews.

A mass will be said at 11 AM on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 in the chapel at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Rd, Indianapolis.
