Pat Davis, (aka Concrete Pat) age 54, died with family surrounding him Monday evening, November 5th at Community South Hospital. Pat was born on November 26, 1963 in Franklin, IN. Pat was preceded in death by parents Bill & Glenna Davis.
Pat is survived by brother Mike Davis and sister Toby Davis both of Indianapolis, Uncle Bob, Aunt Julie & Cousin Bobby Bazaz of Nutley, NJ, cousin Cindy Rothe of Puyallup, WA, nephews Jason Davis of Chicago, Danny Davis of Center Grove and niece Miki Watts of Indianapolis.
Pat was a 1982 graduate of Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar.
Pat was employed by the family business, Midwest Concrete Pumping from gradation until January of 2009. After that he worked for Midwest Constructors of Indianapolis, Wallace Construction of Waverly, IN and most recently Lithko Contracting of Indianapolis. Pat was involved in pouring and supervising concrete pours on many significant buildings throughout Central Indiana during his career including Market Towers, The Collegiate, Drury Inn North, One North Capitol office building, Embassy Suites North, numerous projects for Community Hospitals, Two Intech Park, two Duke Realty Headquarters Office Towers and several other Duke projects, the first Distribution Center build in Plainfield, and hundreds of other office buildings, retail buildings, hotels, schools and churches around Indianapolis.
Pat along with his father Bill introduced Indiana to the Somero Laser Screed for mechanically screeding concrete and Soff-Cut concrete saw-cutting methods in the late 80's and early 90's and opened Modern Concrete Placement, the first company in Indiana to offer these services to the construction industry. Both methods are now the standard in the industry in Indiana.
Pat lived life hard but could always be counted upon to work round the clock if needed when pouring concrete and took great pride in his work. In his early years he was a fearless ATV and dirt bike rider until a few accidents derailed that passion.
The family will host a Celebration of Life event at John Wayne's Pub & Eatery on Friday, November 16th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Friends are encouraged to stop by and share your stories of Pat.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to the Friends of Garfield Park, Inc., PO Box 33002, Indianapolis, IN 46203 or can be left at the Celebration of Life event. This is an organization the family and Midwest Concrete have supported for many years to support the mission of Garfield Park.
