Patricia Ann Ampe,
82 of Kokomo passed away peacefully May 24, 2016, surrounded by her daughters. Patty endured a long battle with Alzheimer's disease, maintaining her grace and dignity until the end. She is now reunited with her husband, Bernie, of 57 years, who passed away in December.
She was born in Dayton, Ohio to Paul and Madeline Kaltenbach. She was a graduate of Miami University of Ohio. After teaching a high school business class for several years, Patty devoted her time to family, raising her three daughters.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, P.E.O.-Kokomo chapter, Meals on Wheels, Republican Women's Organization and Delta Zeta sorority-Alpha chapter .
Patty was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed time with family and friends, spending time at the lake and in Venice Beach, Florida.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (David) DuBow of Indianapolis, Susan (Jim) Paulsen of Lafayette, and Kathy (Mike) Hower of Fishers; grandchildren, Nathan DuBow, Kaitlyn, Maddi and Mackenzie Paulsen, and Kylie (James) Houck; brother, Roger (Susan) Kaltenbach of Dayton, Ohio; and sister, Gwen (Tom) Nugent of Dayton, Ohio.
In celebration of Patty's life, a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church. A reception will immediately follow at Kokomo Indoor Golf Simulators/The Rabbit Hole (the old Elks Club), 614 S. Union Street.
