Patricia Ann Ford

November 26, 1947 — May 5, 2023

Fishers

Patricia Ann Ford, 75, was called home to the Lord and passed away peacefully on May 5, 2023, after a long illness.  She was born in Indianapolis on November 26, 1947, to the late James and Opal Edwards.  Patricia was preceded in death by three of her brothers, Paul Edwards, Jack Edwards and Roger Edwards.  Patricia spent her life in the service of others, first as a nurse for 43 years and then an ordained minister.  Patricia was the office manager and private nurse for Jack Summerlin, M.D., an ear, nose and throat surgeon in Indianapolis for 43 years until he retired.  Patricia earned her nursing licenses, first as a licensed practical nurse and then as a registered nurse attending Marian College where she graduated with honors, while working full time for Dr. Summerlin.  Her years of service as a Registered Nurse resulted in many accolades from colleagues and patients as a compassionate and loving professional who truly cared for the well-being of all.

Following her retirement as a Registered Nurse, she continued pursuing her religious passion and completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with honors from Indiana Christian University in Christian Ministry.  Patricia was an ordained minister of Christian International, Founder Bishop Bill Hamon.  She conducted many outreach ministry events, pastored a church and founded and operated her own prayer ministry as a minister trained in Restoring the Foundations. She was the founder of His Way to Glory Ministries where she provided Christian counseling and conducted religious services.

Patricia was a devout Christian who loved Jesus.  As an active ordained minister, she enjoyed teaching others about Jesus, discipling her members to reach higher levels of the anointing and ministering healing and deliverance to the blind, bound and captive.

Patricia was a kind, loving, fun and generous person who cherished spending time with family and friends, either at home or while traveling on an adventure.

Loved ones that will miss Patricia dearly are her son, James Ford, her loving companion, Joseph Eke, two brothers, Kenneth Edwards and Howard (Jimmy) Edwards, two granddaughters, Marissa Ford and Samantha Ford, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.  Her trust and faith in God and her commitment to the value of life were unwavering.  She gave her loved ones the best from her heart.  All who knew and loved her can trust that she is still praying on our behalf and will continue to bless us through her direct connection to Jesus and God.

A Celebration of Life for Patricia will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Hoosier Harvest Church, 4085 Leonard Road, Martinsville, IN. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.  After the Memorial Service, interment will immediately follow at the Nebo Cemetery, 3295 S.R. 252, Martinsville, IN.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Patricia’s name to the American Cancer Society (1-800-227-2345).  While cancer did not take Patricia, it did take her mother when Patricia was only 9 years old, and later her father and three brothers.
