81, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 11, 2013, following a valiant two and a half year battle with lung cancer. Pearl was born February 27, 1932 in Michigan City, Indiana. Pearl was teaching in Indianapolis, when she met Jack Jaffe, whom she married May 28, 1954. She was a caring, supportive and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who most enjoyed spending time with her family.
Pearl was a long time member of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. She was very active in the IHC Sisterhood, and was a member and past president of Hadassah. She was a volunteer at Hooverwood and member of the Hooverwood Guild, serving as secretary of the Guild for five years. Pearl was also a musician. She attended and graduated from Indiana University where she played violin in the Indiana University Orchestra. Later, Pearl sang in the IHC Temple choir.
Pearl is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Jack, her loving children, Jay, Jan Broaddus (Kevin), Caren Goodwin (Mike), her grandchildren, Jason, Michelle, Julia, Cory, Rachel, Nolan and Cameron, and five great-grandchildren.
The Jaffe family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of the caregivers at Hamilton Trace, who provided Pearl with much comfort and support over the past two years.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 15, 2103 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road, Zionsville, Indiana 46077. Services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, with interment at Indianapolis Hebrew Cemetery North.
