Philip Richardson passed away February 16, 2022 of Covid with his sister at his side. Philip was born January 20, 1950 in Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Irene Richardson. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1968 and briefly attended Indiana University.
Philip resided at Central State Hospital, LaRue Carter Hospital and most recently, lived the past five years in Evansville State Hospital where he spent his days napping, amusing the staff and “surviving the war”. He will be remembered for his sweet heart, sweet soul and special charming sense of humor. Sadly, he was tortured by a merciless brain disease that was resistant to current treatments.
To all of the very special caregivers who loved Philip aka “Mr. Bill”, you did your best for him – thank you.
He is survived by his brother, Ken Richardson (Lisa) Birmingham Alabama; and sister, Katie Richardson Boland (Mike) of Indianapolis; Wes and Corey Boland; n ieces, Emily Richardson Hardie (Blair) and Connor of Omaha and Karoline Richardson McGrail (Eddie) of Atlanta and Julia.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 26th at All Souls Unitarian Church, 5805 E. 56th Street, Indianapolis (please wear a mask). Visitation at 11 AM followed by a memorial service at 12 PM, with luncheon to follow (if you are fully vaccinated).
