Philippe J. Bougard,
58, of Carmel, passed away September 15, 2021. He was born in Mons, Belgium to Jean-Paul and Agnes Bougard on May 2,1963. Philippe earned a Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Mons. He served as first lieutenant in the Army of the Belgian Reserves. Following his service, he traveled to the United States to earn his MBA from Indiana University. He received an additional Masters degree from the London School of Economics. He was employed by Eli Lilly for 29 years working currently as an Ethics and Compliance Advisor.
During Philippe's employment, he traveled to China, Japan, Australia, South America, Dubai, and the Czech Republic collecting colorful monies and souvenirs. He especially enjoyed family vacations that included trips to Hawaii, California, Grand Canyon, Florida, St. Tropez, France, and Spain to name a few. His most recent travels included camping in his RV. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and will be remembered for his adventurous spirit.
He is survived by his wife, Greta Bougard; children, Jacques and Alizée; mother, Agnes Bougard; brother, Marc (Katty) Bougard; sister, Thérèse (Jean-Francois) Roch; niece, Héloïse Roch; and nephews, Max Bougard, Pol Bougard, and Augustan Roch.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 12 noon at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Little Eagle Creek Cemetery.
