In Loving Memory of Phillip E. Scrogham

Phillip E. Scrogham, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2019 after a two year battle with lung cancer. He was born in Indianapolis on December 9, 1938 to Robert and Louise Scrogham. Phil lived his childhood years in San Francisco, CA, working on his dad's fishing boat. Phil enlisted in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired on January 31, 1997 after 35 years as a leak inspector at Citizens Gas & Energy.

Phil and his wife, Sue Ann Scrogham, were happily married for over 50 years. He loved fishing and camping with his wife and family. They had a place at Monroe Lake where they spent many years enjoying boating with friends and family. Phil loved to work in his garage on cars. When not fishing or fixing cars, he loved working in the yard with his wife and faithful companion, Casey (their Yorkie), who he referred to as "pal". Phil and his family had wonderful vacations together and he enjoyed traveling in his later years with his wife.

Phil and Sue have been longtime members at Trinity Lutheran Church. He loved going to church and socializing with his friends over dinner afterwards. He also loved playing Euchre with family and friends.

Phil is survived by his loving wife, Sue Ann Scrogham; daughters, Kim (John) Hommel and Autum (Mike) Wilson; son, Lee Allen (Stacey) Scrogham; grandchildren, Amanda (Travis) Britton, Christian Scrogham, Ashton and Casety Scrogham, and AJ Hommel; and great-grandchildren, Cayden and Emma Britton, and Ayla and Abigail Hommel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Louise Scrogham; and brothers, Robert and James Scrogham.
