Rameet Singh,

beloved son, was killed by depression on Friday, Oct 1st at the age of 22.

Rameet touched the lives of everyone around him. He was a kind old soul, who cared about everyone but himself. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

He was born on November 23, 1998 in Albany New York. Rameet graduated from Carmel High School and went to IU Jacob School of Music. He was still working on his degree there.  Not only was he artistically gifted, but he was a genius. Rameet excelled academically, taking high ability classes, and usually had perfect grades.

Rameet was eager to please others.  He loved to read, sleep in, stay up late, and paint his nails. He would often be see him with his beanie, boots, and jewelry.  Rameet was a super cool dude!

Rameet was a very talented musician and started to learn to play music at a very young age. He started with Tabla and Harmonium. He went on to learn piano and taught himself to play the guitar.

Music was his life. He really loved music - making it and listening to it. His friends have memories of Rameet walking out of his room into the living room and to ask everyone at 2am, “You guys want to record something?” Then they would spend the next few hours messing around, making music, and seeing Rameet work his magic.

He was so excited to show someone the new song or album he recently fell in love with: Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Julian Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, UK Grime, and FUTURE. He heard the magic in so many things.  His dear friend Sydney captured his essence beautifully saying he found or saw the magic in everything.

Rameet learned to be an amazing cook. He was always coming up with different recipes. He would make food for his mom, brother and friends and sought to comfort those close to him with food.

Over the summer, Rameet enjoyed playing bartender for friends and learned how to make his family's favorite cocktails. As was his personality, he found pure joy in helping others! He loved caring for people and was always accommodating. Rameet had a generous spirit and always thought of others. If he was hungry, he often would buy a meal for himself and whomever he was with. If someone else were hungry, he’d go pick up their favorite comfort food.

He also really loved driving and would listen to NPR for hours. In the car, Rameet would listen to the most beautiful music - some of it was beautifully tragic and some of it was bursting with energy, just super fun. He worked for Papa Johns because he said bringing food to people brought him joy.

Rameet was selfless, creative, caring, and intuitive. He was always concerned with the well-being of people around him. He cared deeply and was incredibly perceptive.

Rameet was an excellent listener. According to his friends, if anyone had a bad night, he was always there - ready to hug and hold you.  Then he would distract them from their troubles with homemade Indian food and a few somehow perfectly selected random videos.

He deeply loved his friends and took care of them. Rameet genuinely cared if when his friends had a bad day, and he’d always ask why. And if they didn’t want to talk about it, he wouldn’t ask again. He cared, but he didn’t pry. Rameet was the most comforting person to talk to. He never carried a drop of judgement for anyone. IF YOU KNEW HIM, HE LOVED YOU!

Rameet is survived by ALL that knew him and loved him! He made is family proud every day and their lives will never be the same. Rameet was ahead of his time and the earth was not yet ready for him.

Funeral services will be held at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services, 11411 N. Michigan Rd. , on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 12 PM. Friends are welcome to visit from 11 AM until the time of the service.  There will be small religious ceremony followed by cremation.

Note about Sikh Services: Attendees sit on the floor and there will be chairs in the back if needed. Please remove shoes at the door and use a head covering.  Head coverings will be provided by the funeral home or you are welcome to bring your own.

The final ceremony will immediately follow at the temple, Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar , 12200 E. 131st Street, Fishers, IN 46037.   Langar (food) will be served at the conclusion until 3:30 PM.
