Gurbani says only Waheguruji controls the comings and goings.

The almighty holds the power and the authority to create and destroy.

None can interfere with his Hukam (command).

Her life was a blessing, her memories will be a treasure we hold dear.

Antam saskar means last rite.

Sikhism considers Death a natural process and God's will or Hukam. To a Sikh, birth and death are closely associated, because they are both part of the cycle of human life of coming and going Aaavan Jaan. which is seen as transient stage towards Liberation Mokh Du-aar, complete unity with God. Sikhs believe in reincarnation. The soul itself is not subject to death, it is only the progression of the soul on its journey from God, through the created universe and back to God again.

What to wear to a Sikh funeral

It is best to dress modestly, in muted colors with not too much skin showing.

You will be expected to cover your heads at the funeral, with a headscarf and to remove your shoes.

Someone will be there to guide you.

Sikh funeral etiquette

If you are a non-Sikh attending a Sikh funeral, you will not be expected to participate in prayers and readings. Simply stay respectfully silent, and sit or stand when the rest of the congregation does so.
