Renate Anderson,
81, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1st, in Indiana, surrounded by family. She was born in Berlin, Germany, married and moved to Plymouth, Indiana where she worked as an accountant for McCord Heat Transfer until she was transferred to Charleston, SC where she worked for Behr America and lived joyfully until her passing. She was an active member of Sierra Club, an avid skier and cyclist. She was a volunteer for Spoleto, a docent for house and garden tours and took every opportunity to experience the arts. She traveled extensively, never losing her fascination with people and cultures from around the world.
She is survived by long time companion, Peter Silveston of Charleston, SC; her daughter, Andrea Lightfoot, son-in-law, Jeff Lightfoot, and grandson, Connor Lightfoot of Carmel, Indiana; Peter's children, Matt (Barbara) Silveston, Rebecca Silveston-Keith (James), and Rachel Silveston-Reguin (Yvan); and siblings, Michael (Gisela) Scheuing and Sabine Scheuing-Reimers of Berlin, Germany.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 9th at the Sandcastle at Kiawah Island resort from 1 - 4 PM.
