Retha Louise (Eib) Paschke hated her name, but loved her family more than anything. Preferring to be called Ree or Red, she was born in La Porte, Indiana on May 5th, 1955 to Gene and Betty Eib. Ree joined as the caboose of the family, being the youngest sister to BJ Eib, Kathy Weiss, and Mary Dillman. She is also survived by her loving husband, Kevin, who tenderly cared for his bride of 43 years at home, as her disease took her away.
Ree leaves behind her two dedicated children, Brett (Natalie) Paschke and Jessica (Robert) Berretta; and the most beautiful, funny, smart, sweet, grandsons, Benjamin (3), Sam (6 mos), and Theo (3 mos).
The family asks for donations in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association , Brain Donor Project or your local Humane Society.
She will be remembered for her affection that could mend knee scrapes and broken hearts, her contagious laugh, and her perfectly applied lipstick.
When you smell pineapple upside-down cake or hear Bon Jovi, you’ll know she’s near.
A note from her family: On her headstone she had wanted it to read “Kiss my ass and call me Retha.” Our family is still working on this request ;).
Thank you to all the researchers working to kick Early Onset Alzheimer’s ass. We’re rooting for you every day.
