Rex Smith

August 1, 1949 — May 10, 2016

Rex Robert (Robbie) Smith 66, of Indianapolis passed away May 10th, 2016. He was born August 1st, 1949 in Indianapolis.

Robbie was a happy soul and beat all odds throughout his life. His mother, Phylis referred to him as her ginger head because of the color of his hair - he never lost that wonderful color. The family is saddened by Robbie's loss, but pleased that he is now in God's hands and with his mother. Robbie was a blessing to all of his family and will always be in our hearts. He loved the people who helped take care of him and I believe he has a special place in their hearts too.

Robbie was preceded in death by his mother, Phyliss (Collins) Leive of Broad Ripple; his aunts and uncles - George and Anna (Collins) Mitchell, Richard and Patricia (Collins) Maren and Michael Collins. Survivors include his sister, Patricia Ann (Smith) Adam; nephews Phil Brown, Jean Adam and Nick Adam; grand nieces and nephews Sebastian, Anakin and Salem Brown, Ashanti, Justin and Jayden Adam. His cousins are John and Billie Ann (Mitchell) Bonter, John and Deanna Maren, Michael and Kelley (Maren) Walker. His second cousins are Jamie Lynn Williams (Bonter), Paul and Marie (Bonter) Vanderfeyst, Nico and Sam Walker.

A prayer service will be held Monday, May 23rd, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary in Zionsville.
