Richard Lee Arnold,
89, of Fishers, passed away June 10, 2020. He was born December 29, 1930 in Stone Creek, Ohio to the late Ralph Arnold Passed and Ursula (Moomaw) Arnold. Dick moved to Anderson, Indiana in 1935 and attended Columbia Riley, Central Jr. High and graduated from Anderson High School in 1949 per apprentice course.
He then started working at Guide Lamp in April of 1950 and joined the US Air Force in October of that year. During his four years military service, one was spent in Korea.
When he returned home, Dick worked at Alexandria Roller Palace while he finished his apprenticeship. During that time, he met the love of his life, Rebecca Ann (Jones) Arnold and the pair were married June 29, 1958. Dick spent his career working as a tool and die maker until 1983 when he transitioned into the engineering model shop. He retired in 1991 after 41 years at Guide Lamp.
In his retirement, Dick began spending winters in Winter Haven, Florida. He was also associated with Anderson Speedway for 20 years, was a lifetime member of the Elks, Masonic Fellowship Lodge 681, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine Indianapolis and Madison County Shrine Club. Dick was a member of the Madison County Desert Patrol for 20 years.
He is survived by his three children, Bruce Arnold, Mark Arnold and Diane Hettmansperger; two grandchildren; sister, Rhea Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 11th at 10 AM in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
