Richard DeWayne Thomas
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on June 18, 2018 at the age of 71. He was born on April 19, 1947 to Charles and Margie Thomas in Indianapolis. He graduated from Ft. Wayne North High School and attended Purdue University. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966, where he was awarded the American Spirit Honor Medal.
Throughout his career Rick had a passion for entrepreneurship. He helped launched many well-known businesses in Indianapolis, including Gringo's Taco House, Lupi's Restaurante Mexicano, Video Values, Hobby Mart USA, and the Union Station Midway.
His most important endeavor was that of devoted family man to his wife, Gennie; his children, Leslie (Dannie) Carey, Richard Jr. (Rachel) and Jennifer Astle; to his grandchildren, Carly, Ricky III, and Riley and to his brothers, David, Charles and John.
He will be deeply and forever missed.
