Robert "Bob" Dillard
82, passed away February 1, 2017 at the Health Center in Hoosier Village, Indianapolis.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Emily York Dillard, three sons, Mark, Kevin (both of Indianapolis) and Kris (of Atlanta, GA) Dillard; two sisters, Roberta (Walt) Barker of Cincinnati and Deloris (Joe) Lipsky of Texas. Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred and Ruth Dillard; sister, Evelyn Farlow and brother, Charles Dillard.
After finishing high school in 1953, he earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Indiana University. Robert was a research chemist at Eli Lilly for 33 years, retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed hiking in the wilderness areas, canoeing and fishing in Northern Boundary waters, including parts of Alaska. His hobby was gourd crafting and he was a member of the Indiana Gourd Society. He also enjoyed traveling to parts of Europe and Asia.
Memorial gifts may be sent to Westview Christian Church, Disciples of Christ or the World Wildlife Fund.
