Robert M. Ladavac

July 13, 1939 — July 21, 2018

Robert M. Ladavac passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, during a beautiful sunrise just one week past his 79TH birthday.

Bob was born in Cleveland, OH, to Mirko and Violet Ladavac on July 13, 1939. He spent his childhood and high school days in Cleveland, attending Catholic grade school, and playing football for the West Tech Warriors as a tackle. He was offered a scholarship to play football for Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and graduated from the University with a degree in Economics.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army and was discharged as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1969.

He was in the Information Technology industry for most of his adult career associated with Honeywell, Prime Computer and Computervision. Bob was named Branch Manager of the Year three times while with Prime Computer and was a Pro Club member every year, signifying high achievement in reaching and surpassing goals for the organization.

He was passionate about staying fit. Bob ran the Mini Marathon several times; rode the Hilly Hundred with his dear friend, Mike Hayden; took yoga and Pilates lessons, and briefly played golf. Bob was enthusiastic about all sports. He was an avid Colts, IU Hoosier and Pacer fan and couldn't wait for football season to begin each fall. All that being said, Bob's true passion was playing poker. He loved the camaraderie with all his friends each week and would never miss a game, unless at the cottage in northern Wisconsin, or Naples, FL each spring. He also enjoyed the conversations every Saturday with his Starbucks buddies.

For all those who knew and loved Bob, we will miss his enthusiasm for everything and everyone, his insatiable curiosity, his zest for life and that wonderful laugh.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy (Rindt) and son, Chris Housefield from Yorkville, IL, granddaughter, Gabrielle Housefield; brother, Ron (Emma) from the Philippines; sister-in-law, Lynda Majewski, brother-in-law, Joseph Majewski, MD of Burlington, WI; sister-in-law, Katie Rindt, brother-in-law, John Rindt of El Paso TX; four nephews their wives and children from Dallas, TX, Traverse City, MI and Libertyville, IL; The Samberg/Katz/Miller families from Lincolnshire, Highland Park, Deerfield, IL; dear friends, Alan Pyle from Indianapolis; Chuck Potter from Springfield, MO and four surrogate grandchildren - Bradley, Katie, Kristi and Brennan Legue, also from Indianapolis.
