Robert Joel Wohlschlaeger, Jr.,

52, of Westfield, passed away at home on August 1, 2019 surrounded by his family. Rob loved God, guns and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert Wohlschlaeger, Sr. and Barbara Renner Wohlschlaeger. Rob was a 1985 graduate of Carmel High School and was a member of the Carmel Ambassadors. He met his wife Laura in 1985 and they married in 1987. He worked for Alt & Witzig Engineering, and then became part owner and General Manager for CDE Cargo.

Once his boys were old enough to participate in sports, Rob became very active in Westfield Youth Sports, not only coaching and umpiring, but also serving on the Board. Rob always remembered the kids that he coached. Years later when he would see them or their parents he would take the time to stop and talk. He was genuinely interested in how they were doing. Rob never met a stranger and always seem to run into somebody he knew wherever he went.

He dabbled in a few hobbies, enjoyed bike riding with Laura and became an avid fan of hiking and camping. Anybody that knew him knew about his love for the band RUSH. He also loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he was passionate about his St. Louis Cardinals. His collection of Cardinals memorabilia is unparalleled.

He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Laura; sons, Robert Joel (Olivia) Wohlschlaeger, III and Daniel John Wohlschlaeger (Devyn Yurisich, granddaughter, Nora Yurisich); mother, Barbara Brundage (Jeff); sister, Leigh; niece, Tawny; and his beloved extended Missouri family. Robert was preceded in death by his father.

A Celebration of Life will be held at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services, 11411 N. Michigan Rd, on Saturday, August 10th at 1 PM. Friends are welcome visit from 10 AM until the time of the service.
