Robyn Christen "Christy" (Livesay) Wilson

Robyn Christen “Christy” Wilson, 49, formerly known as Robyn Christen Livesay, was born on December 23rd, 1972, in Columbus, Ohio. She entered into rest on July 31st, 2022 at Community Hospital Anderson while surrounded by the love of her children and loved ones. At the time of her passing, she was a resident of Anderson, IN. While legally known as Robyn, she would always go by “Christy”. In the aftermath of her passing, Christy has already been able to save four lives through Indiana Donor Network (IDN). As you continue to read, you will understand just how passionate Christy was about helping others and saving lives.

To say that Christy came from a diverse family would be an understatement. As Christy would often say, “Blood ain’t always thicker than water.” Adopted at a very young age, Christy was able to reconnect with a vast majority of her biological family later in life. Whether from her biological family or adoptive, it made no difference to Christy. The amount of love from either side was as strong as any Hurricane, any Tropical storm or any force on this God given Earth. Christy preferred to keep things simple and wouldn’t ever share who was her adoptive/biological family”, as it made absolutely no difference to her. Simply put, everyone was just “family”.

As a graduate from Indiana State University (ISU) with a Bachelor of Criminology, a graduate of Vincennes University (VU), and a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Christy worked hard to pave her road to success from a young age. Ambitious, dedicated, timely, genuine, loving, ruthless, undeterred. These are just a few of the words we could use to describe Christy.

While she worked in a variety of fields, she will always be known for her relentless dedication as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Proud does not begin to describe the feeling Christy had when she would put on her scrubs, grab her stethoscope and put on her badge. Christy was the epitome of what a nurse should be.

Even while working countless hours as a floor nurse, she never faltered on her other responsibilities. As proud as Christy was of being a nurse, she was equally proud of her role as mother. One of her favorite activities over the years was attending her sons’ sporting events. Christy was the mom cheering in the stands at 9 pm at the Cub League and the mom in the bleachers out of town for an 8 am basketball tournament. She loved being the “Friday Night Lights” mom and seeing her boys play football. She would be cheering at her boys' games while still in her scrubs from a 12-hour shift and her paperwork in her lap from not being able to complete it while at work. She always put her children first.  While obviously tired, she lived by her words, “We bend, we don’t break.” To say she was a dedicated mother will never do justice to just how much she loved her boys.

In recent years, Christy found great pleasure in making new friends, selling makeup (as well as doing her own), coloring, and playing bingo with her friends. One of her favorite pastimes was simply having a cup of coffee with sugar free vanilla creamer, a couple of sweeteners, and a good conversation with a friend or her children. A simple woman is what Christy was. Although simple, she was a diehard Ohio State University and Indianapolis Colts fan. On Saturday and Sunday, you could almost certainly find Christy glued to her chair and yelling at her television as she grit her teeth with sweaty palms and watched her Buckeyes and Colts clash it out.

The amount of love that Christy had for her family and friends is a standard we should all strive for. To say she would give the shirt of her back to anyone in need is quite the understatement to just how far she would go to see someone get what they need or even to see them smile. Christy’s wishes were for all of us to rejoice her life, laugh about the good times, and remember that while she may be gone from us physically, she will forever remain in our hearts.

Christy was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Metz “Reece”; father, Jim Ruton; and siblings, Mike Metz and Barbara Metz.

Christy is survived by her children, Luke Wilson and Alexander Wilson; parents, Robin Livesay and Fredrick Livesay; siblings, William Livesay, Scott Livesay, Brian Livesay, Todd Livesay, Robert Livesay, Teresa Buena and Jennifer Lasley.  Christy is also survived by her grandsons, Rylan Wilson and Eli Bennett.

In addition to her family, Christy was survived by countless more family members, former co-workers, friends and so many more. Christy didn’t know a stranger and could make a new friend as easily as anyone else around. That’s just how Christy worked, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Throughout the years of personal health restrictions and some personal battles of her own, Christy remained steadfast on saving lives. She always told her children that in the aftermath of her passing, she wanted to continue contributing to saving lives. Her family honored that wish through donation with the Indiana Donor Network (IDN). Christy went into rest knowing she was going to her forever home while still saving lives. As Christy would tell all of us, “Once a nurse, always a nurse.”

You all contributed in the most positive ways to our mother’s life and journey into her afterlife, and we will forever be eternally grateful for your contributions, understanding and loving efforts.

In lieu of flowers, Christy would be honored if you would redirect those finances to donations for any type of Lupus foundation, or to simply donate anywhere at all. She had the biggest love of helping people and would have loved to see all of us contribute in any way to any foundation.

A private ceremony for family and friends will be held at a later date, which will be coordinated by her children Luke Wilson and Alexander (Toby) Wilson.
