Ronald Jerald Glanzman,
79 of Carmel, passed away March 20, 2016. He was born on June 20, 1936 to Ethel Odesky Glanzman and Harry Glanzman. Ron attended P.S. 76 and Shortridge High School and had fond memories of the friendships made and his years spent there. A graduate of Butler University in 1958, he was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity. Ron was, by nature, an innovator and entrepreneur. In 1962, he launched a successful career in the insurance business by opening his first agency. Over the next 30 years, through his vision, ingenuity and hard work ethic, Ron created and operated a national insurance company, National Insurance Association. As he expanded into nearly every state in the country, he always maintained a sense of the possibilities of his hometown of Indianapolis and kept the company headquarters here.
Ron was a lifelong member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, and a loyal member and avid golfer at Broadmoor Country Club. He was loving, intelligent, and brave. Ron cherished his family and was so proud of them. His memory will forever be a blessing.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Linda; his adoring children, Amy Glanzman, Paula Glanzman-Goldberg, and Howard Glanzman; his loving granchildren, Elyse, Daniel, and Benjamin Goldberg; his dear sister, Harriet Lawrence; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Adam Goldberg; and brother-in-law, Ben Lawrence.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 23rd at 11 AM at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, 600 West 70th Street. Burial will follow in Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth-El Zedeck.
