Ronald Dean Lucich,
age 53 of Indianapolis, IN, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
Born June 8, 1961, in Gary, IN, Ron is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sharon (nee Ratajczak); children, Katherine and Nicholas; father, Alexander (late Susanna) Lucich of Speedway, IN; brother, John (Theresa Austgen) Lucich of Carmel, IN; and sister, Linda (George) Miller of Hebron, IN.
Ron graduated from River Forest High School, Lake Station, IN, as Valedictorian, Class of 1979. He was a Law Enforcement Officer at the campus of Indiana University Northwest while attending classes and ultimately earned degrees from Indiana University in Public Affairs, Social Work, Radiography and Radiation Therapy. Ron was the Founding Director of the Hendricks Regional Health Cancer Center in Avon, IN.
Ron was devoted to the care of his family and more recently, his ailing parents. He thought deeply about the issues of the day, often contributed editorials to the Indianapolis Star and was a strong advocate of education. He also had a much lighter side; his wit and humor will be greatly missed as will his abilities playing the saxophone and keyboard.
Ron was a Gift of Life Donor and services will be private per his request.
