Russell D. Sterrett

Russell Dale Edward Sterrett, born November 13th, 1942. He enjoyed 81 years of life, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Thursday, July 18th, 2024. He was the son of the late Albert Ross & Mary Jane Sterrett.

Russell was a graduate of I.U.P.U.I. with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. A long time employee of Allisons Abrasion, General Motors then Rolls Royce, where he retired.

Russell was an avid sports fan. He knew every player of every sport as well as every stat. Favorites included I.U. Basketball and the Green Bay Packers. He traveled often to play a good game of golf with colleagues.

Russell loved spending time with family. He also enjoyed a generous bowl of good ice cream.

Russell leaves behind a legacy of four children. Scott (Marla) Sterrett, Anita Hoskins, John Edward (Joseph) Sterrett and Dawn (David) Hastings. Grandchildren, Amie (Lonnie), Ashley (Chris), Sumer (Stephen), Scott Ross, Chase, David Jr., Shelby (Kody) and Miranda (Joe). Twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, One brother, Ralph Wakeman (Cindi) Scott. Many Nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by his late wife, Kittye Joe Sterrett, parents Albert Ross and Mary Jane Sterrett, brother Albert Ross Sterrett Jr., a sister Ada Faye Sterrett.

The family will hold a private gathering at a later date.
