Ruth Hendry Morrison
Devoted wife, mother, writer, artist, and longtime Indianapolis resident, passed away on April 4, 2017.
Ruth was born on January 20, 1926 to John and Helen Hendry in Chicago, IL. She attended Northwestern University, later completing her degree at Indiana University with honors in 1982. Ruth married the late Thomas B. Morrison on September 6, 1946. Together they raised 4 children in Two Rivers, WI, moving to Indianapolis in 1972.
Ruth was Managing Director of Repertory Theatre at Christian Theological Seminary for 8 years. Ruth was an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she was a founding member of the Book Club, an avid reader, a playwright, and wrote poetry.
Ruth is survived by her beloved family, her children, Mary Morrison Haslinger, Thomas, Robert, and William(Jane) Morrison; her grandson, Gabriel Luis Morrison, and her brother, Gordon (Terry) Hendry. In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy and brother, John.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 West 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46260, on May 6, 2017 at 2 PM with a reception immediately following.
