Ryan Patrick Mason,

27, of Zionsville, passed away September 26, 2016. He was born in La Porte, IN to Vernon and Denise Mason on October 13, 1988. After graduating from Zionsville High School, Ryan received his Associate's degree and was pursuing a Bachelor's from IUPUI in construction engineering. He loved scuba diving and water sports. He was certified as an open water diver, advanced water diver, rescue diver, and was working towards his dive master and scuba instructor certification.

As a child, he took a lot of things apart to figure out what made them work. It was no wonder he pursued a construction engineering degree. Ryan loved his family get-togethers, summer pool parties, Lake Freeman and Lake Shafer, playing basketball, designing Easter eggs, and cousin days to the movies after Thanksgiving dinner. He was a member of PADI.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Denise; grandmother, Joan Kornelik; siblings, Adam Mason and Dr. Wendy (Darren) Mason-Caudill; nieces, Ava and Finley; uncle, Kevin (Nancy) Kornelik; aunt, Michelle Kornelik; aunt, Connie (Rex) Jacquay; uncles, Steve (Sharon) Mason, Bruce (Bernice) Mason, and Aaron (Ann) Mason; cousins, Jacob, Kristin, and Terese Kornelik, Zach, Mark, Taylor and Jade Mason, and Tiffany and Bryan Jacquay; and close family friend, James Campbell. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Mason; paternal grandparents, Eileen and Vernon Mason; maternal grandfather, Eugene Kornelik; great-grandmother, Theresa Ficht; uncle, John Ficht; and cousin, Christopher Mason.

A Celebration of Life will be held at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services on Saturday at 1 PM. Visitation will be held from 12 PM until the time of the service. Friends may leave a memory or message of condolence by visiting the online obituary at www.arnmortuary.com.
