Saahbu Kamau Hanki,
62 of Indianapolis passed away January 15, 2012. A lifelong resident, he was born to Lillian and Ryan Woodson on October 2, 1949. Saahbu graduated from Tech High School and Indiana University. He was an educator at the Indiana Reformatory in Pendleton, teaching adult education, GED and math. Saahbu had retired from teaching and tutoring.
He is survived by his sons, Shatan (Sita) Hanki and Cameron Smith; grandson, Nikolas Chotalal; sisters, Jackie, Emma Jean and Terri; brother, George Wilkins; and by the love of his life, Crystal Norman.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 20th, 2012 from 3-7 pm at the Federation of Colored Women, 2034 North Capital Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
