Sally Anne Klabunde (Sprunck)
passed away peacefully at age 87 on September 3, 2014 in Zionsville, IN. She was born in Oxnard, CA on August 9, 1927 to Marian Leaver and Paul Gustav Sprunck, and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She met Robert Frank Klabunde in September 1946 while riding a bus to the same business college in Pasadena, CA, and they were married on October 11, 1947. Her life was blessed by her loving and devoted husband to whom she was married for 62 years until his death on May 3, 2010.
She lived most of her life in Southern California and New Mexico, followed by a move to Ohio in 2011 and then to Indiana in 2012. She worked as a telephone company training supervisor and retired from AT&T in 1982. She enjoyed sewing and knitting for many decades and cherished the companionship of her cats. She was an avid reader and instilled in both of her sons an attitude of learning and achievement.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard Edwin Klabunde (Indianapolis, IN) and Donald Paul Klabunde (Simi Valley, CA); four grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Sally will be held on Saturday, September 20, 10:30 a.m., at Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Road, Zionsville, IN 46077.
