Scott Lloyd Bradford

Scott Lloyd Bradford, of Athens, Alabama, went to be with his Lord December 22, 2021 in Indianapolis.  Scott was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Dean L. and Chikako (Shimizu) Bradford on May 16, 1967.

He went to Avon Schools most of his life where he was in band, loved bowling, became an Eagle Scout and was on the school newspaper staff.  He graduated from Avon H.S. in 1985.

Scott went to General Motors Institute of Technology (Kettering University) and graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Because he worked in the automotive industry most of his life he moved to a lot of states, which played in to two of his great passions – his love of cars and road trips.  He liked looking at paper maps and trying to figure out odd destinations or just driving to drive and see what was around the next turn.  Scott also had a lot of useless knowledge.  He would have been the perfect partner for Trivial Pursuit or a multi-day winner on Jeopardy.   He also enjoyed politics.  Scott would argue, defend, debate anything politics, but most important to him was just to vote.

While Scott moved to different states it seemed all roads kept leading back to Alabama. (He was currently working at TBaki in Athens)  He loved Alabama.  Loved the people, the weather, working there, the food, etc….it seemed no matter where he went he would come back to Alabama…..and Bama football.  He was a HUGE Bama fan.  HUGE.  Nothing came between him and a game – absolutely nothing.

Scott is survived by his mother; sister, Donna Nichols (Greg); niece, Elizabeth and nephew, Austin; along with many relatives here in the states and in Japan. He also leaves behind friends he made in the different places he lived and his constant companion, Lucky….a stray he found injured on the side of a highway that ended up giving him unconditional love.

He was preceded in death by his father, niece, Rebecca (Becka) and both sets of grandparents.  He would also appreciate us mentioning his former dog, Buddy.  Buddy was family and would need to be mentioned.

There will be no services at this time.  Please consider a donation to the Hendricks County Humane Society ( hendrickshumane.org ) in his memory.

With Scott in mind please vote, be kind to animals and each other, admire the new innovations on the current model of vehicles and “ROLL TIDE!!”
