Shannon R. Walsh

Shannon R. Walsh (Hibbard),
age 49, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. She was born October 27, 1967 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to George and Nancy (Lewis) Hibbard, who preceded her in death. Shannon greatly enjoyed her work as a Dental Assistant for Dr. John Rufatto and Dr. Miriam Carmean.

Shannon had a love for art and painting that led her to co-found The Drem Corp, a non-profit organization bringing art to under-privileged children. She has brought joy to thousands of children and adults through her paintings which can be found at Riley Children's Hospital, New Palestine Elementary, Pike Township YMCA, YMCA at the Athenaeum, Holy Family Shelter, Zionsville United Methodist Church, IPS Montessori School 56, Sand Creek Elementary, Kaleidoscope Youth Center, IPS Public School 67, Coburn Place Safe Haven, Agape Therapeutic Riding Center, and many more. Shannon loved to make people smile through her beautiful artwork.

She was a fun, loving, kind and generous mother, sister, mimi, aunt and friend. Shannon leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Erica Walsh (companion Kelly Ryan Cantwell); granddaughter, Annabelle Douglas; sister, Janet Alkire (Yauncy); brother, Jeffrey Hibbard (Karrie); nieces, Kaylee Frazier (Josh) and Kyleigh Alkire; nephews, Justin Hibbard, Jeremy Cobb and Yauncy Alkire, III; great-niece and nephew, Abbilynn and Jordan Frazier; and an amazing number of wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Life party will be held in April. Arrangements entrusted to Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary in Zionsville.
