Sherwood P. Hill

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and longtime Indianapolis attorney, passed away on January 8, 2018 at the age of 82.

Sherwood was born on June 30, 1935 in Buffalo, NY to Jules and Molly (nee Kaufman) Hill. The family moved to Indianapolis where he attended Shortridge High School. Following high school, Sherwood served two years in the U.S. Army and then began working in the Insurance industry. He completed his under graduate degree and his law degree in night school at Indiana University. Beginning in 1970, he went into private practice, spending his formative years with Maurer, Rifkin and Hill, and practicing until just before his death.

As a member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, Sherwood served as a member of the Board of Directors; he was a member of the American Bar Association and the Indiana Bar Association and was an avid golfer.

Sherwood is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; his daughter, Elizabeth; son, Rudolph Adam (Cindy); and granddaughters, Amanda, Amber and Victoria. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Daniel Joshua Hill and his half-brother, Barry.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Aaron-Ruben- Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road, Zionsville, IN 46077.
