Prior to moving to the Carmel area in 2008, Shirley lived in LaPorte, IN. Shirley and Ira were the former owners of the Dairy Island in Valparaiso, IN.
Shirley took pride in raising her family in LaPorte, IN. Survivors include children: Ira (Debra) Mills, Jr. of Carmel, Lori Mills, of LaPorte, and grandchildren; Leslie and Taylor Mills of Carmel, Emalee and Kevin Krishan of Zionsville.
