Sue A James, 81, of Indianapolis, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 11, 2021. Her parents were Henry Whittington and Pauline Stanley.
Sue grew up in Anderson, IN, graduated from AHS and lived there until moving to Indianapolis in 1982. Sue was a homemaker for years, then worked at Indiana Bell before working at Williams-Sonoma. This was her dream job, when she worked outside of her home, as Sue loved to cook. She always enjoyed making special meals for her family and friends.
Sue was a worldwide traveler. One of her favorite stories was from a trip to Australia when some emus came up to her and were eating snacks from her pocket.
Sue was a member of St Luke’s United Methodist Church. She was also involved with Habitat for Humanity in FL for several years.
Sue is survived by her children, Jill Dunbar, Annette Herbert, and Phil (Gloria) Stewart; her grandchildren, Mandy (Mike) Allaire, Mike (Brittany) Stewart, Evan (Gabrielle) Lachmayor, and Drew Lachmayor and her great-grandchildren, Auguste, Henri, Hadley and Thea. She is also survived by her grand dog, Bentley, who she loved dearly. Sue was pre-deceased by her two beloved husbands, Lowell Stewart and Robert “Bob” James.
