Susan Kathryn Hahn

Susan Kathryn Hahn, a respected college professor and retired Westinghouse executive, passed away on March 15, 2025 in Carmel, IN at the age of 76. Born and raised in Allegheny County, PA, Susan dedicated her life to the pursuit of education and the empowerment of her students.

Throughout her career, Susan was known for her passionate teaching style and commitment to fostering a love of learning in her students. She inspired many with her knowledge and enthusiasm, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of learning from her.

Susan’s personal life was marked by the love and support of her family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Hilda Hahn; her sisters, Betsy (David), Teresa (Joe), Mary (Tom), and Peggy (Martin Kenny); her brothers, John (Cindy) and Chuck (Patty); her sons, Paul and Matt (Jill) Bernard; along with her cherished grandchildren, Kathryn, Evan and Liam. Also grieving her loss are a circle of numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Hahn, who shaped the values and work ethic she carried throughout her life, her husband Carl Schenone, and her brother Andrew.

Friends will be received at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home in Madison PA, from 11:00 am-12:00 pm on Monday March 24th, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Sara Lee-Faulkner officiating. Interment will follow at the Penn Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Irwin, PA.

A remembrance celebration will be held at Salvatore's Event Center, 5001 Curry Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 from 11:00am - 3:00 pm on April 19th, 2025.

Her legacy will be remembered both in the hearts of her family and in the eyes of countless students. Susan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the indelible mark she left on those around her.
