Sylvia W. Silver
passed away peacefully on June 27, 2015, at the Hooverwood Jewish Home in Indianapolis, IN. She was 101. Born in Chicago, IL in 1913, the daughter of Herman and Rose Werner, Austrian immigrants, Sylvia married Leo Silver, of Knox, IN and they raised three children, including Matthew (Arlene) Silver of Indianapolis.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Her devoted caregiver for many years has been Mrs. Madgie Caudle of Indianapolis. Additionally, Sylvia, who lived primarily in Knoxville, TN, co-founded Fellowship Camp in 1950, which brought African-American and white children to learn and play together during many summers.
