Thomas Alva Kinnee,
71, of Greenwood, passed away September 29, 2019. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on May 9, 1948 to Rundell and Ellen Kinnee. Thomas proudly served in the United States Army, doing two tours in Vietnam. When he returned home, Thomas became a police officer. He retired from both the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Clermont Police Department where he held the position of Deputy Chief. Thomas loved his profession. He was also a Hamm radio operator and enjoyed speaking with people all over the world. Thomas was an honorable man and he will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Bonny; mother, Ellen Kinnee; children, Sandra Kinnee and Steven (Ashley) Kinnee; grandchildren, Lauren, Noah, Ethan, Evan, Emma, and Eliana Kinnee; great-granchildren, Xander and Loki Kinnee; siblings, Zane (Sherri) Kinnee, Keven (Janet) Kinnee, Susan May, and Sandra Kinnee; and several nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his father; son, Brian Kinnee; and uncle, Jim Coleman.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 7th at 1 PM in Etz Chaim Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
