Virginia Carolyn Steinberger

Virginia Carolyn Steinberger,

age 88, passed away May 16, 2016 at her home in Indianapolis, IN with family by her side. She was born on February 21, 1928 in Decatur, IL. She was married to Don R. Steinberger of Seymour, IN, who preceded her in death on January 1, 2008. Don and Carolyn lived in Seymour, IN from the time they were married in 1952 until 2000 when they moved to Indianapolis, IN to be close to family.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Claudia Cottingham and Jill Wood; granddaughters, Christin Willman, Spencer Wood and Alexis Wood; and great-grandson, Finn Willman who was her golden child.

Carolyn will be remembered for the gifts of love, laughter and stories she gave her family during the last few months of her life. She allowed us to be with her on her final journey, a journey she made with a grace and dignity that taught us so much and is her legacy to her family.

Pastor Sam Davenport, formerly of Seymour, will conduct a private service for family.

Throughout her life, she loved her dogs with a passion. Memorials may be sent to the Humane Society of Jackson County per her wish.
