Wayne Howard Carr,
75 of Zionsville passed away on September 25, 2013. He was born in Bristol, VA on January 16, 1938 to Ida and Fred Carr. Wayne served his country in the US Army. He worked as a truck driver.
Wayne was a member of the American Legion Lebanon Post and College Park Church. He enjoyed attending church, watching the Colts, and taking adventurous family trips when his children were young. Wayne loved his dogs and was a devoted husband and loving father.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bo"; children, Tracie Smith, Bradley (Shelly) Carr, and Jacqueline Carr; step children, Scott (Mendie) Burkley, Shannon Burkley, and Chris (Sonja) Burkley; grandchildren, Nikki, Josh, Billy, Brent, Tyler, Lindsay, Elizabeth, Logan, Kara and Vanessa; great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Ashley, Macie, Brooke, Clayton, Nathan, and Eli; sisters, Frances White and Dorothy (Dale) Cole; numerous nieces, nephews and good friends; his special church friend, Phil; and three dogs.
Wayne was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robert Smith; brothers, Bob, Bill and Junior Carr; and sister, Mary Louise Carr.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 28, at College Park Church, 2606 West 96th Street, at noon with calling from 11 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local Humane Society.
