Wilbur (Woody) Wood,
A much loved husband, father, and grandfather, Wilbur (Woody) Wood, 93, passed away peacefully at home in Noblesville, IN on March 17, 2013 with his family. Woody was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dobich Wood and his brother Merrill Wood and is survived by his daughter Debi (Wood) Weis and her husband John; son David Wood and his wife Laila; grandchildren Nathan Weis and his wife Tricia; Amanda (Weis) Leet and her husband Jason; Nikulas Wood and his wife Courtney; Angeline (Wood) Emmel and her husband Jacob; great-grandchildren Hudson and Beckham Leet; Lila and Meehan Weis and Wyatt Wood.
Woody was raised on a farm in Anderson, IN, served his country during WWII in the Army Air Force, and served his community as a school bus driver for over 40 years. He was a volunteer fire chief for the Town of Edgewood and maintained the Town of Edgewood utilities department for over 40 years.
As a role model to many, Woody was hard-working, honest, generous and one of the most well-respected individuals a person could meet. A gracious and kind human being, our humble hero will be terribly missed and never forgotten.
A ceremony honoring him will be held on Friday, March 23rd at 3:00pm EST at the Chapel at Anderson Memorial Cemetery. Checks should be made out to Wounded Warrior Project and include 'In Memory of Wilbur Wood'.
