William Levy (also known as Bill or Willie), 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana departed this earthly life on January 11, 2024. He was born on April 3, 1930 to Avisai and Grace Levy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye, and is survived by his two children, Ike (Cindy) and Karan (Ed); six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
William served in the Navy before and during the Korean Conflict. He married Laura Faye Dollar on April 6, 1951. He received degrees from Butler University and the Indiana University School of Law and subsequently practiced law in Indianapolis for over 50 years, including serving as a Municipal Court Judge for a number of years in the 1970’s and 80’s.
He was an active member of Etz Chaim Sephardic Congregation and served in many capacities at the synagogue. He dearly loved his faith community.
He had a tremendous love of life. He enjoyed golf, bowling, traveling and life-long friendships. Above all else, William loved his family and was devoted to their well-being.
He will be greatly missed.
Services for William will be held at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Rd, on Sunday, January 14th at 2 PM. Click here to view the livestream. Burial will follow in Etz Chaim Cemetery.
