Woodrow Allen Neil
On Thursday February 5, 2015, Woodie passed away at St Vincent Hospital surrounded by his children.
Woodie graduated from Tech High School and then joined the Navy for 2 years. After the Navy, he attended Indiana University to studying business. He then attended school in San Diego to write "The Great American Novel". After realizing he was not "The Great American Novelist", he returned to Indy and spent the next 25 years in the automotive industry. He opened several successful dealerships including Jaguar MG and Greenwood Chrysler/Plymouth. He found his greatest success over the next 30 years in Commercial Real Estate and other Business ventures. He was a partner in several restaurant/bars including The Cork and Lauderdale's at Keystone at the Crossing. There were many fun late nights spent there with friends and family.
He loved boating, fast cars, especially Corvettes. He loved driving his Corvette down to Ft Lauderdale, where he spent his winters. He spent hours picking out his music to play on the way down and drove fast to beat his record time in getting there. He was so proud of his "all time" record which was 14 hours 53 min. He loved his boat Stardust that he kept in Ft Lauderdale. He had many fond memories boating with his friends and family around Ft Lauderdale and many trips to the Keys. Sometimes he just got on his boat by himself with a big scotch and water and would go out in the ocean and stare at the moon playing Ray Charles.
He was very generous in making donations to many organizations. His primary organization is St Mary's Child Center, where he is an original Godfather.
He is survived by his three children, Greg Neil, Sheri Campbell and Brett Neil: Grandchildren, Tommy Campbell, Stephanie Neil, Kelly Neil, Railynn Stephens-Neil: Sister Quincy Perry (Chuck): her children Tague, Tyler and Tammy.
