Zabol Mokri Sadri

84 years, of Indianapolis passed away November 26, 2016. She was born in the town of Zabol, Iran on March 31, 1932 to her mother Robabeh Iraji and her father, Mortez Mokri who served as Governor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

In the early 1970's Zabol was sponsored by a Fulbright Commission grant to travel to the United States where she worked with several Universities and studied their dental school programs. Upon returning to Iran, she introduced a structured academic curriculum to Tehran University and personally created the School of Dental Hygiene. After serving as its Director for 10 years, Zabol achieved her Master's Degree in Nursing and became Chief of Nursing at Madaen Hospital in Tehran. She and her Husband, Khosrow Sadri moved to Indianapolis in 1984 and in 1993 they both proudly attained their U.S. citizenship.

She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Naji Sadri Ropkey; son-in-law, Rick Ropkey; grandson, Noble Ropkey; cousin, Mitra Iraji; nephew, Amir Mokri; and niece, Shookufeh Mokri.

It is with enormous gratitude we wish to thank Dr. Malaz Boustani and his wonderful team at The Indiana University School of Medicine Center for Aging Research as well as her loving caregivers: Kyla, Kiki, Rick and Sharon, who helped support and care for her to the very end of her beautiful life.

A memorial service will be held on December 6, 2016 at the Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian Street. Visitation will be 9 AM until the time of her service at 11 AM.
